So Natural (album)
So Natural is the third solo album by British pop / soul singer Lisa Stansfield, released in 1993, on BMG/Arista label.
Overview
So Natural is Stansfield's very first musical work almost entirely realized by the singer herself along with her husband and collaborator Ian Devaney. Previously, the pair had worked in a trio with Andy Morris who co-wrote and co-produced with them Stansfield's first two solo albums, 1989's Affection, and 1991's Real Love. Morris took on no production duties for this album, and share co-writing credits on just three tracks: "Marvellous & Mine", "Turn Me On" and the very first single taken from it, "In All the Right Places", also included in the soundtrack to the Indecent Proposal movie, starring Demi Moore and Robert Redford. Two additional singles were taken from the LP, namely the title track "So Natural" and one of the few disco-dancey tunes on the album, "Little Bit of Heaven". A further single is represented by "Dream Away", a duet with American star Babyface (who co-wrote, for example, Madonna's ballad "Take a Bow"), which was not included on the original 1993 album track listing, but only features in the 2003 remastered edition in digipak of the work, also containing the previously unreleased B Side "Gonna Try It Anyway" and the title track "So Natural" «No Preservatives Mix by Roger Sanchez». The album was never released in the U.S., where "Dream Away" reached Number 80 in the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Another track of the period which did not feature on the album was "Make It Right", also released in the U.S., it entered both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and the Hot Dance Club Play Charts, peaking at Number 64 and 46, respectively.
The music video for "So Natural" was shot in The Fountain of Neptune, Madrid.
